Yesterday's post was of Milford Sound in New Zealand. Also in NZ is the Church of the Good Shepherd on the north shore of Lake Tekapo on the South Island. When I was there the first time in 1981, I was alone; as far as the eye could see it was all about nature. Fast forward to the present and it is now an Instagram-able spot. Now there is a parking lot with a traffic problem! I couldn't believe it when I returned in 2018. Newlywed Chinese couples travel here to have their pictures taken and then post them online so more come. I brought my photo tour group here at night to shoot the Milky Way thinking all the other tourists would be back at their hotels. Wrong was I. We needed a special ticket just to get close enough to the little stone church. The lights you see on the church come from the cars and buses in the parking lot. The red lighting on the left occurred when a bus driver stepped on his brake pedal. I took this shot using a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 lens, and the camera settings were 15 seconds, f/1.8, and 2000 ISO.
