One of the great vistas in Europe is this elevated view of this section of Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia. Most of the tourists who visit this stunning place never see this view, but my wonderful guide in the Balkans, Luka, took my photo tour group here. This landscape composition looks best under an overcast sky for two reasons: The contrast is at a minimum, and the reduced light allows for a long exposure to artistically blur the falling water. I had to walk out to a promontory to avoid trees in the foreground, and it was a bit scary because I don't have great balance, but it was worth it to capture such a beautiful scene. My settings were .6 seconds, f/22, and 100 ISO. I used a 24mm focal length for the shot.
