For the entire week I was in Vermont with my photo tour, I was constantly looking for this: White birch trees juxtaposed with brilliant red leaves. Birch trees typically turn yellow in autumn, so they have to be growing near a sugar maple tree that typically turns intense crimson in the fall. It's not common, so when I found it I was elated. On the second to the last night of the tour, I discovered this group of trees ironically right in front of our hotel. I shot this with a 24-105mm lens, and my settings were 1/125, f/11, and 1600 ISO. Diffused light was essential to make the colors really pop, and fortunately there was no wind.

Jim - Thanks very much, Bob. I'm glad you like them. I was very pleased with them myself, and really excited that I hit the peak right on the button.
