I’m in Russia now -- the fourth back-to-back photo tour -- and in Moscow I arranged to photograph a beautiful mode l in an exquisite19th century gown. The original background was a white wall with simple moulding for design purposes. That was attractive, but my mind always goes to the best possible scenario. The day before, I took some dramatic pictures in the Kremlin Palace, so I used one of the incredibly decorated rooms as a new background behind the model. I used Topaz Remask 5 to select the model and the love seat. For the architecture shot, I used a Sigma 14mm lens, and the settings were 1/250, f/1.8, and 1600 ISO. For the model, I used a 24-105mm lens. I stood above her shooting downward which gave the right perspective when pasted into a room taken with a wide angle.

George Kistler - You are amazing. A great photographer and a great teacher and one of the hardest working people I have ever known. Thank you for your daily photos.
