This is a wild peacock in Yala National Park in southern Sri Lanka. He was displaying for a peahen just three feet away, and he was trying so hard to impress her. His feathers were in full display, he vibrated the feathers to create a rustling sound, and he turned his back on her and ruffled his tail feathers in her face. The peahen didn't seem impressed -- although she didn't leave. In the early morning light, I had to use a high ISO so my shutter speed would be fast enough to freeze the aggressive movement of the feathers. In addition, I needed a certain amount of depth of field due to the angle from which I was shooting. My settings were 1/1600, f/11, and 5000 ISO. I used Neat Image software to eliminate the noise.
